Dragon Fire
The skies above the Marble Kingdom burned orange and red as giant firestorms twisted across the mountains surrounding Inferno Raceway.
Crowds packed every grandstand.
Flames burst from giant towers.
Massive dragon statues lined the edges of the circuit, breathing real fire into the night sky.
Because tonight was the most dangerous race ever attempted.
And only one racer truly belonged there.
Deep inside the pit lane, mechanics stepped backwards nervously as a black-and-red racing machine slowly rolled from the shadows.
Its engine sounded different from the others.
Not like a car.
More like a beast waking from sleep.
The entire body glowed with burning flames while molten orange light flickered beneath the wheels. Sharp dragon wings stretched from the rear spoiler and a giant golden dragon head sat across the front like a living creature ready to attack.
Inside the open cockpit sat the fearless marble driver himself.
Dragon Fire.
His glowing eyes reflected across the polished track as smoke curled around the tyres.
Nobody spoke when he appeared.
Even the loudest fans fell silent.
Because everyone knew one thing.
When Dragon Fire raced…
Something explosive usually happened.
The race began beneath a sky filled with lightning.
Cars launched forward into the first volcanic tunnel while giant bursts of steam exploded from cracks in the circuit.
Blue Dolphins skimmed across the water section.
Camowan attacked the corners with impossible speed.
Boo Boo bounced wildly through the lava curves.
But Dragon Fire simply hunted.
His flaming racer drifted through corners like a creature made entirely from fire.
Every time he accelerated, flames burst from the exhaust pipes and left glowing scorch marks on the track behind him.
Then disaster struck.
Halfway through the race, a giant volcanic eruption shook Inferno Raceway.
Molten rocks crashed onto the circuit.
One racer spun out completely.
Another slammed into the wall beside the lava tunnel.
The crowd screamed as smoke filled the track.
But Dragon Fire didn’t slow down.
He drove straight through the flames.
His glowing dragon car blasted across the burning surface as if the fire itself was pushing him forwards.
The giant dragon on the front of the car suddenly lit up bright gold.
Fans could hardly believe what they were seeing.
The entire racer looked alive.
As the final lap approached, only one obstacle remained.
The terrifying Inferno Jump.
A giant flaming ramp suspended high above a river of lava.
Most racers avoided it completely.
Dragon Fire accelerated harder.
Faster.
Faster.
FASTER.
Then suddenly—
The dragon racer launched into the sky surrounded by fire.
The crowd rose to their feet in shock as the car flew through the flames like a giant blazing comet.
For one moment, Dragon Fire seemed to become part of the fire itself.
Then the racer landed perfectly.
Sparks exploded behind the tyres.
The engine roared louder than thunder.
And with flames trailing across the track behind him, Dragon Fire crossed the finish line first.
The entire stadium erupted.
Fireworks exploded across the mountains while giant pillars of flame shot into the sky.
Dragon Fire climbed slowly onto the roof of his car and looked across the cheering crowd with a confident smile.
Because deep inside the Marble Kingdom, every racer knew the truth.
Nobody ruled Inferno Raceway like Dragon Fire.
